Have Fun with Hand Painting

There is not much that you need in order to do hand painting projects either. Depending on the amount of children that are doing this project your materials may range from a few items to many. For this example we are going to say that you have ten children painting a project. For this amount of children you will need the following items: assorted paint, items to make designs, assorted puffy paint, a paint brush for each color, stamps, and last sheets of paper that are thick enough for the paint to hold and not bleed through. All of these items can be found at your local craft store, and are also occasionally easy to find at local dollar stores in their arts and craft sections. 

In order to create a perfect masterpiece for their parents or themselves, children should be allowed to pick whatever color paint they would like to use for their hands. Once they have put their hand prints on the paper, they can decide what they would like to do next. If they want to use only those two prints or if they would like to make a design using their fingers, hand prints, or other items that you have supplied that can make designs such as the different shaped stamps.

One of the best things about using your hands for hand painting projects is the children get to be messy and have fun while they are doing the project. Not only will kids enjoy making somebody their creation, but they will look forward to signing their name at the bottom in what ever way the want to. This can be done using their fingers, lettered stamps, or with a pen.

The importance to this arts and craft project is the children can do whatever they want to and have fun while doing it. Art is one of the many forms of self expression and unfortunately it is becoming increasingly unpopular through schools as art programs are being cut or put on a strict art budget where children have to supply their own art supplies. By proving this activity you are giving children a way to have fun and create something unique. It is also important to show children that they can have fun doing other things besides sitting on a computer or using their technology. Teach the child how to enjoy themselves using their expressive side. Get in there and have fun with them, and show them your artisitc side. After all, how long has it been since you used finger paints?
